Persuasive Argument School Gaming Club

Oamaru Intermediate School Pembroke Street Oamaru 9400 Dear Mrs Healey I have written this letter to convince you to set up a gaming club at our school. This can be a solution for the student’s boredom. I am very bored at recess and lunchtime. And the only option is to play sports or walk around the school. And I’m not that much of a sporty person. I hope by the end of this, I will convince you to take action and agree with me. Believe it or not, gaming is educational. You need to be taught or learn how to play different gaming genres. Like adventure, Let’s say Minecraft. You need to learn the basics. Get materials, Crafting tools, mine for valuable gems and defeat the bosses. You don’t just learn this stuff with a snap of a finger. Therefore, Students can learn the basics of games they think are cool, but they have never associated with it and they are determined to do so. There are quite a lot of students who do nothing at recess and lunchtime. And I am one of those students. This can entertain quite a lot of those students. We can make options like Streaming the games on Twitch, recording gameplay to edit and upload on Youtube, or just playing any game they want to. Well not GTA 5. That game is too inappropriate. Kids that get hyped for going home after school to game, Don’t have to wait 6 hours to do so. They can game and have fun at breaks. Also, Students can learn new skills. Students can start off really bad at a game, and then become extremely skilled at the game by the time the year ends. Like Call Of Duty. They will start not getting a kill every game, to hitting sniper trickshots. You probably think i’m speaking spanish with all that Call Of Duty Stuff I’m talking about. Also, a bunch of video game companies’ use real life skills in their games. Like Minecraft. You try to survive in your world. Going through your first few nights in the game is quite difficult. You craft tools you mine and trade with villagers for better stuff. These steps for the game reflect into real life survival. It’s how the cavemen got through their times. It’s like the movie “Castaway”. He survives for 4 years, surviving off seafood. I know Tom Hanks was acting, but you can use those skills if you’re in a plane that is about to crash. Finally, If students wish to pursue an occupation in the gaming industry, This can be the start of their journey. I’ve seen lots of gamers who made a massive success just from streaming and content creating. There are these teams out there called gaming clans. They are teams of skilled players. And if a student is good enough, They could be trialled and potentially accepted into the clan. Their clan can get into tournaments and make a very successful career out of it. Gaming is a good way for people to chat with other people and make new friends. And therefore, I think a gaming club would change a few students' lives. Sincerely, Riley
